Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor Dennis Dura who notes that Hackaday recently featured a clever DIY receiver project based on the Si5351 and ESP32 that covers shortwave, mediumwave, and more. It has a nice retro look, plenty of modern features, and even includes an SDR mode for use with a computer.
If you enjoy homebrew radio projects, this is well worth a look:

Thanks for highlighting one of Mirko Pavleski’s DIY radio projects, Thomas. I’ve followed his videos and radio construction work for a few years now, I’ve been tempted several times to build one of his projects based on an RTL-SDR. These seem like very worthy radio construction projects, and Mirko certainly has plenty of them to choose from. I’m grateful to him for sharing all of them!
