2016 Dayton Hamvention: Inside Exhibits Photos

Hamvention-Inside-Exhibits - 63

Most years I attend the Dayton Hamvention, I take photos of the outdoor flea market. It’s a great opportunity for me to gauge used equipment prices and check out rare finds.

This year, I made an effort to take photos of some of the inside exhibitor booths as well. Here they are, in no particular order:

Seeing your photos is the next best thing to being there. It’s like being mentally transformed to that place and time, so thanks Thomas.

Nice pics again Thomas, and good to meet you at the table!

It was interesting observing people there. Currently just an SWLer, it was curious to see the dedication and intense interest of the amateur radio community regarding various esoteric topics and gear. I could almost see myself getting involved in some aspect of it, like portable 2 meter operations. And I was impressed at some of the genius-level leaders being so humble in their helpfulness to that community.

Being there helped. For instance, I never knew that the AOR LA400 magnetic loop antenna can be REMOTELY tuned (up to 20 meters using optional cables). THAT is very important info since many people reading this blog have limited space and do not want to mount a loop antenna indoors in order to avoid noise issues.

    Thanks again for the reports.

Thomas, thanks for posting the great pictures for those of us that couldn’t be there. Maybe some year. However, I’m glad my checkbook couldn’t be there either.
I mentally spent a few thousand $$ just looking at your pic’s. Ha Ha

Nice! I can almost hear the sounds of the place as well! Didn’t get to go this year, but nice to see familiar things – thanks for sharing!
