Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Chris, who writes:
Last weekend, I watched a few old James Bond movies and this caught my attention when Blofeld was listening to a shortwave broadcast:
Can anyone identify this radio?
Post readers: Please comment if you can ID this radio model!
I was going to say it was a Zenith, as the styling is very much in that vein. It’s turned out to be a Philips, and a very nice looker too.
Looks like either a national Panasonic…or a philco ?
Philips. In some of Bond films Philips was used as product placement.

Marcus
Philips, also known as a Norelco — they looked great but not so much performance-wise.
According to this site it is a Philips L6X38: http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/product/philips-l6x38-t-transworld-de-luxe-antoinette-radio
Wow! Spot on, Andy!
I can! I have one sitting right in front of me.
It’s my dearly departed dad’s.
It’s a Philips/Norelco – 22RL798 Antoinette Transworld de luxe – World radio.
Does anyone want it? It’s a beast.
