Ian McFarland and Colin Newell Revisit SWL Digest

Fans of Radio Canada International’s SWL Digest will be delighted to hear that Ian McFarland has teamed up with Colin Newell for a new podcast episode, SWL Digest 2025. It’s a nostalgic nod to the classic RCI program and a welcome chance to hear Ian’s familiar voice once again!

  1. Timothy Marecki,

What great memories! I was an RCI as well as Swiss Radio International listener until both stations left the air It is great to learn about the careers of the shows presenters too! I highly recommend this podcast and am looking forward to future shows.

What a joy to once again hear the voices of Bob Zanotti and Ian McFarland. Bob doesn’t sound any different from 20+ years ago, and Ian, well, just a little bit older ;’-) A very enjoyable program that anyone who’s been a listener during the last century just HAS to listen in! Now, I’m looking forward to a program with Jonathan Marks! Well done, Colin and Ian. Thanks for bringing this to fruition!!!

Very interesting to hear both Ian and Bob Zenotti once again. It’s a pity there doesn’t seem to be anyway to subscribe to these podcasts outside of Apple (I don’t have an Apple ID and don’t want one). An RSS link would be nice!

I have the RSS feed of course!

Nope – you most certainly do not need to deal with Apple ever… ?

Stay tuned – the podcast is coming off of ColinsCafe.com and the RSS link should be on that page – either way, I’ll make it happen.

This is exciting! Looking forward to listening. I have occasionally wondered what happened to Françoise Borel, Ian’s co-host on the program. Internet searches have not turned up anything. I still have a card that she sent me from their Caribbean Service.
