Radio Deal: Midland WR120 weather radios on clearance at Walgreens

Last week, we posted an article about weather radios and Aaron’s assessment of the Midland WR120.

Shortly after publishing Aaron’s post, Nicholas Pospishil commented (on Facebook) that the US pharmacy chain Walgreens has the Midland WR120 on clearance. In fact, his local Walgreens priced the WR120 at $3.50–a phenomenally low price!

I had to investigate this so I stopped by my local Walgreens and searched for the WR120 on the clearance shelf, but there wasn’t one unit to be found. I flagged down the manager at this store–a fantastic guy who’s helped me in the past–and asked if he could check inventory.  He discovered two units tucked away and looked up the clearance price. It was $18.99 in their system. Evidently, store managers have a lot of latitude with clearance pricing and he kindly halved that and set the price to $9.99 each for the two remaining units. I felt like this was a fantastic bargain, so I bought both as Christmas gifts.

If you have a Walgreens near you, I would encourage you to stop by and see if they have any WR120s in stock! These units are only available in Walgreens stores–not on their website. Please report back and comment with pricing!

Radio Deal: Eton Mini Compact AM/FM/Shortwave Radio

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Christian, who notes:

The price of the Eton Mini has dropped again to a historic low of $24.15. I’ve been watching Grundig prices on Amazon and they’ve been moving around a lot. The lowest prices only seem to last a day or two. As we all know Amazon can change them at any time.

Radio Deal: Eton Field BT for $79.99 shipped

Many thanks to SWLing Post reader, Christian, who writes:

Hi Thomas. Amazon have dropped the price of the Field BT once again. This time to $79.00 shipped! This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen for this model. I already have one now but thought I’d “share the love.” This is Amazon, so who knows how long the price will remain.

Thanks for the tip, Christian!

Radio Deal: Eton Executive Traveler $49.65 shipped

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Christian, who writes:

Another Grundig/Eton deal on Amazon. This time the Eton Exectutive Traveler for $46.65 shipped. One of the lowest prices I’ve seen on this one. I already have a Traveler so no plans to purchase, but thought your readers might be interested. Good little radio if you ask me. Esp. the executive version as I like the case. Again we’re talking Amazon here so the price can change based on demand.

Thanks for the tip, Christian!

Radio Deal: Eton Field BT on Amazon

Many thanks to SWLing Post reader, Christian, who writes:

Hi Thomas. Just thought you should know that Amazon has lowered the price of the Eton Field BT to $89.99 shipped. For how long this will be the price I don’t know. This is only $5 more than the lowest price I’ve ever seen for the Field on Amazon. I just bought one and thought I’d share.

Radio Deal: The Grundig/Eton Mini shortwave portable

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Larry, who notes that the price of the Grundig Mini has just dropped to $24.99 shipped on Amazon.com. Larry notes, “I believe this is the lowest price I’ve ever seen for the Mini which is a decent little pocket radio.”

I should add the standard Amazon disclaimer noting that they change price without notice.
