Greetings all SWLing Post community! This week Imaginary Stations takes you back to our secret shortwave laboratory along the 45th Parallel for our Annual Midwinter broadcast. No matter where you are on the planet, we’re halfway there. Great tunes are coming to you via the ionosphere from shortwaveradio.de on Saturday 7th February 2026 at 1200 UTC on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz. In case you miss Saturday’s broadcast, there are additional transmissions on Sunday 8th February 2026 at 1000/1400 hours UTC on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz and 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz.

And on Wednesday 11th February 2026 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI it’s “ALL ABOARD!” with CTRN for all your railroading, hobo-ing, and freight-hopping needs. Ride the rails of adventure with your shortwave radio.

In case you miss Saturday’s broadcast, there are additional transmissions on Sunday 1st February 2026 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz and the new time of 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. Make sure you’re at the bus stop on time, have the right change handy or your bus pass at the ready!

And on Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI we bring you another midwinter journey to the 45th Parallel from our Secret Mountain Laboratory. We’re calling all listeners along, above, and below the 45th parallel for a dx musical expedition to the wild North.

A shortwave mystery on the 45th Parallel

Good day all SWLing Post community far and wide! FastRadioBurst 23 here with what Imaginary Stations will be bringing you this week for your shortwave listening pleasure.

On Saturday 1st January February 2025 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also on Sunday 2nd February 2025 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz via Shortwave Gold we’ll be bringing you WMMR, another show where the listener has to guess what the theme is. Tune in and let us know what you think it is. It could be anything from dreams, the bus stops or apple orchards but we are not giving away any clues, you will have to decide.

On Wednesday 5th February 2025 at 0300 UTC via WRMI we have our yearly 45th Parallel Midwinter broadcast. As it says on the special press release direct from the Imaginary Stations HQ in special gold print: “Enjoy a unique programme of music and messages for anyone who lives on, above or below the 45th parallel”. It will be great so do listen in!

More maps and a midwinter broadcast

Hi all SWLing Post Community, FastRadioBurst 23 from the Imaginary Stations crew here letting you know that this week we present another installment of WDWD – Off the Map Radio. Programme 3 in the series will be going out to Europe via the services of Shortwave Gold on Sunday 4th February 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. There will be lots of place names, locations and maps mentioned.

Then on early Monday 4th February 2024 we have the annual 45th Parallel Broadcast at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. We can’t give too much away but do expect some circular latitude business and of course some forty fives played throughout the show. Tune in and enjoy the yearly fun!

Apologies for last week’s non-appearance on 9395 Khz, looks like WRMI was down all evening on that frequency. Fingers crossed the Imaginary Stations 45th Parallel Midwinter Broadcast will now be on this Sunday 19th February 2023 on 9395 kHz at 2300 hrs UTC.
