Mysterious radio signals

Greetings all SWLing Post community, here’s more about what the Imaginary Stations crew will be getting up to via those shortwaves this week on Saturday 11th October 2025 at 1100 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 12th October 2025 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC (new time slot) on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz.

We can’t tell you anything about the theme of this show, but we can say it will be transmitted by Shortwave Gold. Listeners are encouraged to contact us and let us know what they think the theme is by tuning in and making a link with the tunes played and there will be a special e-QSL for the winner. Full details of how to contact us will be contained in the broadcast. Tune in and see if you can guess the theme.

On Wednesday 15th October 2025 at 0200 UTC via WRMI  we have an episode of Radio Ace. It’ll be full of everything radio related, and will there be any appearance from Flash Frisbone this time? Does he still exist? Has he changed his name? Or has he left the radio altogether and become a car mechanic? You’ll only know if you tune into Radio Ace.

Another trip forwards, sideways and backwards in (shortwave) time

Greetings all SWLing Post community, here’s more about what the Imaginary Stations crew will be broadcasting via those shortwaves this week on Saturday 4th October 2025 at 1100 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 5th October 2025 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC (new time slot) on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz.

It’ll be another trip in time travelling again (via the transmitters at Shortwave Gold) with KTAB – Time Anomaly Broadcasting (the second edition). They’ll be all sorts of great tunes from yesteryear so expect more snap, crackle and pop and even more scratchy 78rpm records and the odd Edison cylinder thrown in for good measure. So step forwards, sideways and backwards in time via that shortwave dial this weekend.

On Wednesday 8th October 2025 at 0200 UTC via WRMI  we have an episode of the Ancient Analogue Archive (where we dig deep into the forgotten music on archive.org). So more interesting musical business over the airwaves from Imaginary Stations.

A trip via KTAB to Peru

Greetings all SWLing Post community, here’s more about what the Imaginary Stations crew will bring via those shortwaves this week on Saturday 27th September 2025 at 1100 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 28th September 2025 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC (new time slot) on 3975 kHz and 6160 kHz.

It’ll be a trip back in time (via the transmitters at Shortwave Gold) with a show called KTAB – Time Anomaly Broadcasting which will be broadcast in pure mono complete with the ionosphere joining in with fading and such-like, to give you that authentic old time radio feel you don’t get on today’s shortwave radio shows. They’ll be all sorts of great tunes from many years back so expect some snap, crackle and pop and the sound of the gramophone being wound up before that next 78rpm record gets started. Step back in time via the shortwave dial.

On Wednesday 1st October 2025 at 0200 UTC via WRMI  we have an episode of Skybird Radio International – The Peruvian Edition. Expect some wonderful music in a true South American style. It’s well worth tuning in for!

Turning those clocks back again

It’s another week gone again and I’m FastRadioBurst 23 from the Imaginary Stations crew letting you know about this week’s shows. The first  broadcast is to Europe via Shortwave Gold on Sunday 24th March 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. This time we turn the clocks back for a bit of time anomaly broadcasting with KTAB. We’re talking old time business with some real oldies but goodies. It’s all about the power of the wireless. Tune in and go way back into time with us.

On Thursday 28th March via WRMI we have a dreamy paradise lost of a show called WSFR – Lost Island Radio at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. Get those bags packed and that passport at the ready as you are going to be transported to a dreamy destination far far away.

Don’t worry, you won’t be marooned as we will bring you back safely to your armchair after the hour concludes. Tune into WRMI at the alloted time (Do give yourself enough time to check in and settle down of course) for some paradise island classics.

Getting lost on those shortwaves and finding KTAB

Good day to all SWLing Post Community, FastRadioBurst 23 from the Imaginary Stations crew here letting you know that this week we present WDWD – Off the Map Radio. It’ll be going out to Europe via the services of Shortwave Gold on Sunday 21st January 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. Think of large maps flapping in the wind whilst trekking out in the wilds and places far far away.

Then on early Monday 22nd January 2024 we have KTAB running with the theme “Yesterday’s music today” at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. Step into the shortwave musical time machine and be transported back to a time when valves needed time to “warm up” and tune into some real vintage old-time classics on the old wireless set.

KTAB – Radio back in the day

Hi everyone out there in SWLing Post land, this Sunday we’ve a right treat for you thanks to the good folks at WRMI. KTAB will be featuring “Yesterday’s music today” on 9395 kHz at 2200 utc on Sunday 31st July 2022 via the magic of the wireless.

The show will feature all sorts of old time music from the year dot to the late 1950’s. Listen in and catch some songs you may never have heard of before or if you have, you’d love to hear them again including (below) the wonderful “Eena Meena Deeka” by Kishore Kumar from 1957. Tune in for some golden greats as the say. Fastradioburst23
