Does (shortwave) time really exist?

Greetings all SWLing Post community. This weekend Imaginary Stations bring you a show all about the wonders of time called CLOK. The first transmission is on Saturday 21st March at 1200 hrs UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 22nd March at 1000/1400 UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and 2100 hrs on 3975 kHz (via the services of Shortwave Gold).

We’re not winding you up, but we love passing the time playing with those shortwaves here at Imaginary Stations. During the 3600 second programme you’ll hears songs about wristwatches, stop watches, battery operated time machines and those classic cuckoo clocks. They’ll be a trailor of that classic film “The Watchmakers of Wisconsin” and if all goes well, a performance of the first ever alarm clock orchestra. So make sure your time-piece is set correctly and tune into the sound of the CLOK.

And on WRMI on Wednesday 25^th March 2026 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz it’ll be time for another episode of CLOK. Tune in for more timely classics!

Shelfmarks and shortwave

Greetings all SWLing Post community. Imaginary Stations bring you a couple of new episodes of The Shortwave Music Library. The first is on Saturday 14th March at 1200 hrs UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 15th March at 1000/1400 UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and 2100 hrs on 3975 kHz (via the services of Shortwave Gold). Chief librarians DJ Frederick and DJ Marc sort through those shortwave shelves (and the dusty store cupboard) and pick out some wonderful music. Tune in your radio or online SDR next weekend and see what they pull out from the catalogues.

Both librarians will again be on late duty via WRMI for the second programme on Wednesday 18^th March 2026 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. They will be on hand to do a deeper dive into their databases and those fiddly microfiche machines that needs a steady hand. Listen in again and renew your interest in the library. Skybird goes WEST

Greetings all SWLing Post community! Imaginary Stations bring you another trip around the World with Skybird Radio International on Saturday 7th March at 1200 hrs UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 8th March at 1000/1400 UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and 2100 hrs on 3975 kHz (via the services of Shortwave Gold). Expect tunes from all around this globe of ours featuring all genres of music too. You don’t need a passport, or over packed suitcases for this transmission as Worldwide travel is guaranteed just by spinning your shortwave dial. Tune in and enjoy!

And we’ll be bringing you WEST via WRMI on Wednesday 11^th March 2026 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz. We’ll be going WEST, there’ll be some themes from Westerns, some high noon’s and possibly some westbound trains if all goes well. So, get your compass out, tune in your shortwave radio and get your Clint Eastwood poncho on and enjoy the sounds of WEST.

Greetings all SWLing Post community! Imaginary Stations bring you a sonic salute to “The king of them all” with KING on Saturday 28th February at 1200 hrs UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 1st March at 1000/1400 UTC on 3975/6160 kHz and 2100 hrs on 3975 kHz (via the services of Shortwave Gold). King Records was founded by Syd Nathan in Cincinnati Ohio and featured Country & Western, Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll, James Brown and lots more from 1943-1975 and a wonderful tribute show it is.

And we’ll be bringing you Radio Ace via WRMI on Wednesday 4^th March 2026 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz. Will Flash Frisbone be featured on the show or is he “between stations” now? Listen in and find out.

Greetings all SWLing Post community! The whole Imaginary Station crew get on board to bring a tribute to all things train wise with CTRN on Saturday 21st February at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then again on Sunday 22nd February at 1000/1400/2100 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz (via the services of Shortwave Gold).

If you love locomotives you will this show, they’ll be tunes about out-of-date timetables, railway sleepers, abandoned platforms and a live reading by the Longbridge Trainspotters Society from their new book called “Who’d be a ticket inspector?” (*Subject to availability and of course if the trains are running on time and they make it into the studio). So, grab a hot drink and a complimentary snack from trolley service and tune in and enjoy!

And we’ll be continuing the CTRN journey after a refuel and a water stop via WRMI on Wednesday 25^th February 2026 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz.
