Why modulators modulate regularly and CBRG

Good day all SWLing Post readers, FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know what the Imaginary Stations crew will be bringing to the airways this coming week.

We’ve another WMMR, Mystery Mix Radio show on Saturday December 7th 2024 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and repeated on Sunday December 8th 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and also at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz via the services of Shortwave Gold.  As usual it is a show of an unknown theme that listeners will have to guess what it is. There even may be a clue contained in this text but then again there may not be. So tune in with your pen and pad and a magnifying glass at the ready in full Sherlock Holmes attire and see if you can guess this week’s theme.

Then on Wednesday December 11th 2024 at 0300 UTC via WRMI we have the return of CBRG. Welcome to the sound of Seeburg, AKA the might mellow. Here’s a little taster for you:

Name that theme and more test car classics

FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know of our shortwave outings this week. On Sunday 12th May 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we have Mystery Mix Radio – Name That Theme which is beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold.

This show as the title implies, is going to have a mystery theme and we ask our listeners to guess what that theme is once the show is aired. There will be a special eQSL for the first correct winner. Tune in to find out more details on how to enter.

Our second show is another WRMI edition of Test Cards on Radio on our new day of  Wednesday 15th May 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. We’re talking more test card musical classics and test tones for screen calibration fans and rooftop antenna adjusters. Tune in and enjoy. More on the theme below.

It’s shortwave sleepy time again!

Hi all SWLing Post Community, FastRadioBurst 23 from the Imaginary Stations crew letting you know about our shortwave shows this week. The first is another very chilled, dreamy and sleep inducing programme (in the best way possible of course). It’s called WZZZ 2 and is broadcast to Europe via Shortwave Gold on Sunday 17th March 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. More music to snooze to!

On Thursday 21st March via WRMI we have another adventure in sound called WMMR – Mystery Mix Radio. You will only know what tunes will be played if you tune in at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. Radio Morania and other mysteries

Hi all SWLing Post Community, FastRadioBurst 23 from the Imaginary Stations crew here letting you know that this week DJ Frederick presents WMMR – Mystery Mix Radio. The show, featuring all sorts of musical goodness from his record collection will be beamed to Europe via the services of Shortwave Gold on Sunday 11th February 2024 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. Tune in, put your feet up and enjoy the great tunes.

Then on the new spot of Thursday 15th February 2024 at 0300 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI we have some Morianian vibes from Radio Morania. Have a piece of paper and a pen ready to get that all important address to send your reception reports to!

Mysteries of a shortwave nature

Firstly FastRadioBurst 23 and the Imaginary Stations Crew send our best wishes to all of the SWLing Post Community for 2024!

This week we have WMMR – Mystery Mix Radio beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold on Sunday 31st December 2023 at 1000/1400 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz. Then at 0300 UTC Monday 1st January on 9395 kHz we have WMMR – The WRMI edition. “What will we hear?’ you may ask. Who knows, it’s a mystery! The only way to find out is to listen in.

Shortwave times, they are a-changin’

Hi all of the SWLing Post Community, FastRadioBurst 23 bringing you news of this week’s Imaginary Stations broadcasts. On Sunday 1st October 2023 at 2000 hrs UTC on 3975 & 6160 kHz we have The Imaginary Stations Polka Party beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold. Get the tankard out and get ready for one exciting polka party!

From this weekend the times they are a changing for Imaginary Stations on WRMI. No, you don’t need to set your clocks to fall backwards just yet, but depending on where you have your listening post, you might want to grab some tea and biscuits for some later night listening.

The show will now go out on 0200 UTC Mondays on 9395 kHz and then repeated at 0300 UTC on 9455 kHz. That is four hours later than the time you all have become accustomed to, so translated into Eastern Time we will now be on at 10 pm Sunday evening. This is good news for all the night owls out there, and also good news for those on the West Coast where the show will air at 7 pm Sunday Evening.

The first show for the new times is the debut of WMMR – Mystery Mix Radio where DJ Frederick will be putting together a mix up show from his eclectic record collection, so expect an interesting selection.
