Hi it’s FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know what the Imaginary Stations crew will be bringing to those shortwaves this week. On Sunday 23rd June 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz they have another Name that theme show (WMMR) via Shortwave Gold. Like the last NTT show, it has a mystery theme running throughout and we ask our listeners to guess what that theme was, once the show is aired. There will be a special eQSL for the first correct winner. Tune in to find out more details on how to enter.

Then via WRMI on Wednesday 26th June 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz there’s another version of WMMR. This time it’s a mystery mix which will contain all sorts of eclectic tunes pulled out of DJ Frederick’s record collection but even we don’t know what the show will contain. FastRadioBurst 23 letting you know of our Imaginary Stations transmissions this week. On Sunday 9th June 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we bring you a show called WORD to Europe via Shortwave Gold. Expects words and letters, books, (Radio Phonics) Laboratories, libraries, acronyms, verbs and even an interview with the up-and-coming Wordrock band “Abbreviations and Ampersands” if time allows and loads more.

Our second show is another edition of the wonderful Shortwave Music Library on Wednesday 12th June 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. Expect all sorts of eclectic music selections of the finest quality from DJ Frederick.

Skybird returns to the supermarket shelves

FastRadioBurst 23 letting you know of our forthcoming shortwave transmissions this week. On Sunday 2nd June 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we bring you the return of Free Radio Skybird beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold. Tune in and enjoy the return of the station that brings you the eclectic musical treats.

Our second show is KMRT on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. This programme is part of the SOS – Supermarkets on Shortwave 2024 broadcasts. Expect “Blue Light Specials”, a nearing their sell by date cheese and crackers giveaway (*subject to availability and while stocks last) and a heart warming song from our night shift bakery team.  So cut out the coupon of the local paper to save yourself 10% off the broadcast (one coupon only per listener please) and be very suprised what’s on sale in the centre aisle this week. Remember when it’s gone, it’s gone!

FastRadioBurst 23 letting you know of our forthcoming shortwave transmissions this week. On Sunday 26th May 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we bring you The Imaginary Lounge beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold.

Stick on your best Interview whistle and flute and swan about with a martini glass in your hand whilst tuning into our shortwave VIP cocktail special. We’ve got some exclusive artistes performing live including The Standing Wave Ratio Band plus two brand new numbers from The BFO Light Orchestra. Alongside these cabaret greats will be some fine chilled exotica and relaxing tunes. Tune in and enjoy the high life!

Our second show is WORK on our new day of Wednesday 29th May 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. Enjoy some paid overtime via the airwaves with some job related classics, a rare CV training course record from 1973, the top 5 of what not to say in an interview situation and lots of lively tunes to get your through that night shift. Do remember that the foreman is watching even though it doesn’t look like he is. Clock in, tune in and then feet up until home time.

Our second show is the WRMI edition later in the week on our new day of  Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. It’s a completely different show of global musicality! Take a musical trip without a passport twice this week around this round thing we know as Earth.

FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know of our shortwave outings this week. On Sunday 12th May 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we have Mystery Mix Radio – Name That Theme which is beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold.

This show as the title implies, is going to have a mystery theme and we ask our listeners to guess what that theme is once the show is aired. There will be a special eQSL for the first correct winner. Tune in to find out more details on how to enter.

FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know of our shortwave outings this week. On Sunday 5th May 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we have a show called Test Cards on Radio which is beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold.

This show is a must for fans of test cards and TV trade test transmissions alike and will feature all kinds of frequency tones for screen calibration purposes, an exclusive interview with Stooky Bill (*subject to availability) and test card related music from around the world. So rotate your rooftop antenna, adjust your brightness and vertical hold and tune in on Sunday.

Our second show is a special WRMI edition of Test Cards on Radio (2) on our new day of  Wednesday 8th May 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz. We’re talking more test card musical classics and the worldwide exclusive play of the debut single from the band Horizontal Polarization called “Take me back to the good old days of 525 line Television” (*subject to availability).
