Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Cristoph Ratzer, who shares this exciting news via the DXLD; Manuel Méndez notes:
ANTARCTICA, 15476, LRA36, Rado Nacional Arcángel San Gabriel, Base Esperanza. After months of [silence], LRA 36 will return to the air the 27th of July.
This is the mail I received from the station with this news:“Estimado Manuel buen día, en este momento estamos en un periodo de receso hasta el día 27 de julio que comenzaremos la transmisión normal como la veníamos llevando.
Atte: Sergio LUCERO „
Thanks for passing this along, Christoph! My goal this year is to verify Base Esperanza on 15,476 kHz!
I’ve been fascinated with this station ever since listening to Christian’s recording last year.
RCA (Radio Club Argentina) Express # 19, August 25, 2015
between the hours of 18:30 to 21:30 Z
Does anyone know what time UTC? Thanks
Great news! Last time I heard LRA36 was ten months ago. I hope to hear them again soon!
It has been my goal to hear LRA 36 ever since 2007, when I read in the Monitoring Times that someone living nearby managed to pick it up using nothing more than a Eton E5 and its built in telescopic antenna. I have tried to hear this station many times with both my Grundig Satellit 750 and my Sony ICF SW7600GR. I hope reception will be better this year.
