It’s heavy on radio transmissions this month with the return of DJ Frederick’s Free Radio Skybird on Sunday 20th September at 1100 UTC (12 Noon UK time) on 6070 kHz shortwave via Channel 292 (and repeated the week after.) If you haven’t got a suitable radio it can also be heard on the SDR link on their site here. The first programme will feature DJ Frederick, Justin Patrick Moore’s Radiophonic Laboratory and our very own One Deck Pete with his “Who’d be a pirate” mix. 49 metres is again where it’s all at!
Also Sunday 27th September 2020 (and repeated the week after) at 1800 UTC (7pm UK time) on 3955 kHz via Channel 292 is the final transmission of Radio Lavalamp. The ultimate programme of the year will feature One Deck Pete with his The Purple Nucleus of Creation 003 mix. Tune in to “Your ethereal shortwave music station” on 3955 kHz or this link here when the time is right! #Freeradioskybird #radiolavalamp #shortwavesnotdead

Radio Northern Europe International now via WRMI
Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Roseanna, with Radio Northern Europe International who shares the following announcement:
RNEI has arranged a deal with WRMI to bring you our latest monthly show every Thursday at 1UTC on 5850 kHz (Wednesday night US time – just before TIAMS!)
Because these broadcasts are 1 hour long rather than our usual 30 minutes it allows us to have a little extra content we are calling RNEIX(tra).
[…]We will be broadcasting with similar processing to TIAMS so expect high fidelity sound in Comb Stereo ?
For our European fans:
New RNEI shows will always go out first on 6070 kHz Channel 292 before WRMI and any extra content will be available on demand.
We hope you can tune in and enjoy the show,
– Rose

Radio Northern Europe International August 2020 broadcasts
Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Roseanna, with Radio Northern Europe International who shares the following announcement:
Hello all,
Just writing to announce RNEI #7 & TIAEMS August 2020 starts on Sunday the second of August 2020!
Our show is packed with some great pop and dance music from Northern Europe including quite a few Icelandic and Norwegian songs this month and a very interesting song from the UK too!
There is a little less traditional music than is average this show which I’ll make up for next month, but hopefully you’ll enjoy what is in this month’s show!
Our digital this time is PSK500R at the end of the show and TIAEMS is MFSK 64.
The Stereo Decoder has been updated so we recommend you download the latest one, it sounds much less artefact-y!
Demo here:

Our broadcast times are on the table below:
We hope you tune in and enjoy this months show, wishing you all the best,
Until next month,
Ha det!
Thank you, Roseanna, and apologies for not getting this posted before your Aug 2 broadcast! Ha det!
