Using the imagination again

Hi SWLing Post community, FastRadioBurst 23 here with news of the Imaginary Stations radio shows  bouncing off the ionosphere this week. This weekend we have another of those “name that theme” shows of WMMR.

Like the last WMMR show, it has a mystery theme running throughout and we ask our listeners to guess what that theme was, once the show is aired. There will be a special eQSL for the first correct winner. Tune in to find out more details on how to enter. This show is brought to you via the services of Shortwave Gold on Saturday October 26th 2024 at 1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and on Sunday October 27th 2024 at 1000/1200 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2100 UTC on 3975 kHz.

XRPT and trains on the shortwave tracks

Hello all shortwave listeners and SWLing Post community, FastRadioBurst 23 here with news of the Imaginary Stations radio shows this week. This Sunday October 20th 2024 there’s a new show called XRPT. We are not going to give much away about it but look forward to a non-linear journey into the creative process of the Skybird crew”. This show is brought to you via the services of Shortwave Gold at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz.

Then on Wednesday October 23rd 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz there’s CTRN 5 via WRMI for all lovers of railroads and trains. Tune in for a mixture of locomotive and electric train classics for all train crew, station staff and passengers to enjoy. Stand clear of the doors please.

In praise of flying and the seven inch single

On 2200 hrs UTC on Sunday 10th September 2023 on 9395 kHz  via WRMI the Imaginary Stations crew bring you WS7S, a show in praise of the humble seven inch single. Expect to hear some gems, some light scratches and a little bit of off-centre pressing madness.

And over on Shortwave Gold a couple of hours earlier at 2000 hrs UTC on 3975 & 6160 kHz there’s a guest show from WJST – Jet Set Radio.

Now time for a shortwave tea break

Hi all in SWLing Post land, Fastradioburst23 letting you know about the Imaginary Stations shows this Sunday 3rd September 2023. The first transmission will be beamed to Europe via the services of Shortwave Gold in Germany at 2000 utc on 6160 kHz and it will be WTBR, tea and biscuits radio. Expect an assortment of tunes, some musical crackers (without cheese) and a urn of the finest tea money can buy. It may not be 3pm where you are (or it may be) but make anytime a tea-time with WTBR!

Then later at 2200 hrs UTC on 9395 kHz  via WRMI we bring you another episode of CTRN for all of us who love that wonderful mode of transport, the train. We will bring you songs about level crossings, ticket machines and guard’s vans for all the trainspotters out there. So tune in, make yourself comfortable, please don’t put your feet on the seats, do have your tickets ready for inspection and enjoy a nice ride across the country by shortwave radio.

The deep blue sea and trains this weekend on shortwave

Hi SWLing post community, Fastradioburst23 here letting you know about this weekend’s Imaginary Stations shows on shortwaves this Sunday 6th August 2023. The first show will be  beamed to Europe via the services of Shortwave Gold in Germany at 2000 utc on 6160 khz and will be the debut of KSEA. It’s an ocean themed mix special so grab a waterproof jacket and a radio (with marine band on it of course) and go on a seaward journey with us.

Then later on at 2200 hrs UTC on 9395 kHz  via WRMI we have CTRN for all locomotive fans. We’ll be playing all sorts of songs about stations, signals and rolling stock. Remember to leave any baggage in the guard’s van with your name and address clearly marked on the label before going to your alloted seat. We will be coming around with the buffet trolley so we need to keep the walkways clear. Please enjoy your trip and remember to take all of your belongings with you when you leave the train. Seasonal Seeburg on shortwave
