XRPT and trains on the shortwave tracks

Hello all shortwave listeners and SWLing Post community, FastRadioBurst 23 here with news of the Imaginary Stations radio shows this week. This Sunday October 20th 2024 there’s a new show called XRPT. We are not going to give much away about it but look forward to a non-linear journey into the creative process of the Skybird crew”. This show is brought to you via the services of Shortwave Gold at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz.

Then on Wednesday October 23rd 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz there’s CTRN 5 via WRMI for all lovers of railroads and trains. Tune in for a mixture of locomotive and electric train classics for all train crew, station staff and passengers to enjoy. Stand clear of the doors please.

Libraries on the air on shortwave

Hello all shortwave listeners and SWLing Post community, FastRadioBurst 23 here with news of the Imaginary Stations radio shows this week. This Sunday October 13th 2024 there’s the return of The Shortwave Music Library with chief music librarian DJ Frederick behind the desk picking out some eclectic tunes from his record collection. Expect all sorts of musical goodies from across all genres. This show is brought to you via the services of Shortwave Gold at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz.

Then on Wednesday October 16th 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz there’s Part 2 of Skybird Radio International (Instrumental Version) via WRMI for your listening pleasure. More musical flavours with no vocals from various countries of the world.

We are looking for some financial help to cover our production and transmission costs for our shows on shortwave so here’s our fundraising video below. We’d love to keep our show on the air well into the new year and we are looking for donations (no matter how small as everything helps) to keep our eclectic shows bouncing off that ionosphere. Remember, radio connects us all!

Putting instrumentals on the map

FastRadioBurst 23 here with news of the Imaginary Stations radio shows this week. This Sunday 29th September 2024 there’s an instrumental episode of Skybird Radio International via the services of Shortwave Gold at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz.

As with the last shows, they’re of an worldwide flavour but the musical selection will have a lot less vocals in this episode. Tune in and you’re welcome to add the singing bits yourself.

The on Wednesday October 2nd 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz we have the return of WDWD – Off the Map Radio via WRMI. It’s as they say “an audio journey in the wrong direction to the wrong destination” but wherever we end up, they’ll be tunes mentioning place names, locations, compass points and maps.

The show which features an across the board selection from around this musical globe of ours will be broadcast at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz. Expect all sorts in a international musical mix up including the above musical gem.

Next Wednesday 25th September 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI there’s an episode of Radio Ace. If you love all things radio-related you’ll Radio Ace!

Hi it’s FastRadioBurst 23 here letting you know that the Imaginary Stations crew will be bringing to you the return of Skybird Radio International via the shortwaves on Sunday 15th September 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz via Shortwave Gold. Expect some wonderful eclectic music in a true worldwide style from all of the Skybird crew.

Then on Wednesday 18th September 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz we’ll be bringing you another episode of Skybird Radio International which is a worldwide affair as you can imagine with more tunes from around this musical globe of ours via WRMI.

Skybird returns to the supermarket shelves

FastRadioBurst 23 letting you know of our forthcoming shortwave transmissions this week. On Sunday 2nd June 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we bring you the return of Free Radio Skybird beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold. Tune in and enjoy the return of the station that brings you the eclectic musical treats.

Our second show is KMRT on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. This programme is part of the SOS – Supermarkets on Shortwave 2024 broadcasts. Expect “Blue Light Specials”, a nearing their sell by date cheese and crackers giveaway (*subject to availability and while stocks last) and a heart warming song from our night shift bakery team. So cut out the coupon of the local paper to save yourself 10% off the broadcast (one coupon only per listener please) and be very suprised what’s on sale in the centre aisle this week. Remember when it’s gone, it’s gone!

FastRadioBurst 23 letting you know of our forthcoming shortwave transmissions this week. On Sunday 26th May 2024 at 0900/1300 hrs UTC on 6160 kHz and then at 2000 UTC on 6160 kHz and 3975 kHz we bring you The Imaginary Lounge beamed to Europe via Shortwave Gold.

Stick on your best Interview whistle and flute and swan about with a martini glass in your hand whilst tuning into our shortwave VIP cocktail special. We’ve got some exclusive artistes performing live including The Standing Wave Ratio Band plus two brand new numbers from The BFO Light Orchestra. Alongside these cabaret greats will be some fine chilled exotica and relaxing tunes. Tune in and enjoy the high life!

Our second show is WORK on our new day of Wednesday 29th May 2024 at 0200 UTC on 9395 kHz via WRMI. Enjoy some paid overtime via the airwaves with some job related classics, a rare CV training course record from 1973, the top 5 of what not to say in an interview situation and lots of lively tunes to get your through that night shift.
