Radio Deal: All-time low prices on Eton Executive Traveler, Satellite and Field BT

Hi Thomas. I know both of these deals have been posted already but just to let readers know that both the Eton Exec Traveller and Exec Satellite are still available on Amazon and the prices are both at historic lows.

Right now the Satellite is $91.13 (shipped) and the Traveler $38.00 (shipped). Oddly the older non-Exec version of the Traveler is $56 and the non-Exec version of the Satellite is $189! Don’t accidentally order one of those models. The Eton Field BT is also $79.99 shipped…quite the value.

As others have mentioned here I think Eton may be liquidating their shortwave radio stock. Hope they’ll be replaced with something else.

Thanks for the heads-up, Christian–I appreciate your updates. I’m curious if you or other readers have noticed lower Eton prices on other sites as well. I have not.

I just noticed the Eton Executive Satellite is now priced under $100 on Amazon. I’m sure it will change again soon but this is the lowest I’ve seen it at $96.68 at the time of this writing. Not too many sub $100 radios out there with the features this radio has. I also noticed that this radio is “sold out” on the Eton website – they actually point you to Amazon, so it may be reaching it’s end of life from a retail standpoint.

Wow–Gregg this is the best price I’ve ever seen on the Executive Satellite.  If you’ve been considering one, this would be the time to pull the trigger. I have the non-executive version, but I’m still tempted to snag one of these. It is an excellent performer and the audio from the internal speaker is better than most other portables its size.

I’ve been following the price of the Eton Executive Traveler closely on Amazon. Each day, the price is lowered a few cents. It’s currently $41 and some change. I’m guessing Eton has triggered this continuous price drop to sell out all of the inventory at Amazon. Perhaps this model of the Traveler is on the way out??? At least that’s my uneducated guess.  It’s certainly a great deal at $41! Fabulous little travel portable! Anyway, just wanted to share the update. I’ll be keeping an eye on other prices too. One of the benefits of my recent retirement! Hi hi!

Lately I’ve gotten a lot of questions from readers about magnetic loop antennas, certainly a popular topic on the SWLing Post. Good discussions underway.

So, when I discovered an extra copy of Joe Carr’s excellent Loop Antenna Handbook on my bookshelf this morning, it occurred to me to share it with you, readers. I think I won this copy at a Winter SWL Fest a couple years ago; it’s chock-full of Joe’s handy tips and solutions to antenna questions and installation conundrums. It’s still in great shape, and I’m sure will find a good home with a lucky SWLing Post reader.

The Loop Antenna Handbook is chock-full of antenna theory and practical construction projects.

If you’d like to participate in this giveaway, here’s how:  Simply comment on this post, telling us about your favorite radio! Give us the make/model, and just share a few comments about why you love it above all others.

This can be any radio: a shortwave portable, an SDR, a vintage radio, a ham radio transceiver, a handheld, a scanner, an aviation radio, whatever…or, yes, more than one, if you simply can’t choose.
