As Dan stated…“Holy Crap!”

Checking out the bidding history, it appears there was definitely a bidding war going on, with the buyers entering substantial bid increments.

This QSL card started out life on eBay at $9.50 with free shipping.

Amazing.

$202 at the moment…Looks to be complete as well!

Thanks, Mark! I believe Post reader, Moshe, also took notice of this Panasonic RF-4800. It appears it’s being sold by the same seller who has the Sony ICF-6800W up for auction. Thanks for the tip!

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor, Dan Robinson, who points out this “Like New In Box” (LNIB) Sony ICF-6800W on eBay.

Even the box appears to be in good shape:

Dan has been watching this auction and forecasts that it’ll fetch a healthy sum in the end.  I’m pretty sure he’s correct.

Spotted this today, 463 vintage radios from one seller.
Makes your mouth water!

Wow–that is a serious collection! Each item contains few details, but the seller has a good rating and appears to ship worldwide from the Netherlands. There are a few good Sony and Panasonic models in that lot, too! Not everything is “rare” as the descriptions imply, but some are pretty unique and all seem to be in good condition.

Thanks for the tip, Max!

eBay find: Mint Panasonic RF-2200

RF-2200-eBay

Many thanks to SWLing Post contributor,  Jeff McMahon, who writes:

There might be a bidding war on this “possibly never used” with box Panasonic RF-2200.

Last night, when Jeff sent this link, the price was still under $300–it’s now over $400.  I suspect this listing might achieve top dollar.

It’s certainly saying something that this RF-2200 even includes the original four Panasonic D cells in the supplied cardboard tube! (I wonder what their voltage would be after all of these years?).

For what it’s worth, the RF-2200 is the best mediumwave/AM receiver I’ve ever used. They’re widely available on eBay and one in decent condition will typically fetch $200-300 US. Money well-spent if you want a benchmark portable with amazing audio fidelity.

I came across this find on eBay. I was tempted to buy one myself, but I am content with the PL-680 I have right now. However, some SWLing Post readers may want to check it out:

Thanks for the tip, Chris! It appears this seller has a long and very positive history–certainly a plus on eBay!

Vintage Unboxing: New-in-the-Box Magnavox D2935 Receiver from 1987

D2935 1000pxSometimes good fortune drops in our lap at the least expected moment, but we have to act quickly to take advantage of it! This was the case with the receiver above; I spotted it on Ebay just moments after the seller posted a Buy-It-Now auction. Had I been planning to buy a D2935? No, but I immediately knew I was looking at something special.

This particular D2935 receiver from Magnavox had remained new and unused from 1987 until July 2016, when I had the good fortune of spotting the newly-listed Ebay auction and purchasing the radio for $175.    Continue reading
